Tawkers was dreamt up by CEO and Founder Blake Ian while working as the social director of a leading branding agency in New York City. It was there that Blake observed the pressure felt by brands and celebrities to constantly churn out compelling
content. He watched as brands spent entire quarterly budgets on ineffective 60 second videos with talent. The logistics, production costs, and "ask value" associated with creating these small and ultimately inconsequential pieces of content
was frustrating to Ian, who was tasked with getting maximum engagement for minimal cost on behalf of his brands. It was in that context of that mad scramble that Ian had an Ah-Hah moment: even within an evolving landscape of snaps, stories and
digital shorts, messaging was still making the news as a powerful and effective medium for onlline expression for all ages. And, more importantly, it was low cost, low bandwidth and low tech.
It was from that realization that Tawkers was born: a platform where talent could converse in earnest, from the comfort of their respective homes, without hair, makeup, cameras, lights, or flights. Trial runs of the platform confirmed his theory
